There will be moderate bruising and swelling for at least one week.
Mild to moderate discomfort for at least 2 - 3 days.
The sensation gradually returns usually within 2 - 3 months as the nerve endings heal.
Scars on the face usually fade within 3 - 6 months.
After eye surgery your eyes will probably feel more dry than usual. We suggest using artificial tears.
You can wear make-up after one week.
You can return to work after one week.
Sutures on the face come out after 5 days.
Do not do heavy lifting or straining for at least 3 weeks. Wait 3 weeks after surgery for exercise.
Ice packs or ice sponges for at least 1 - 2 days after surgery help to keep the swelling down. Sleep with two or three pillows to help reduce swelling.
Use a sunscreen with a SPF of at least 15 when outside. Continue for at least 6 months.
You may resume driving when you feel you are able, but wait at least 6 days after surgery.
