How long will I be bruised and swelling?

There will be moderate bruising and swelling for at least 1 week.

How long will I have pain?
Mild to moderate discomfort for at least 2 - 3 days.

Will I have numbness?
The sensation gradually returns usually within 2 - 3 months as the nerve endings heal.

Will my scars be red? How long will I be scarred?
Scars on the face usually fade within 3 - 6 months.

Will I have dry eyes?
After eye surgery your eyes will probably feel drier than usual. We suggest using artificial tears.

How long before I can wear makeup?
You can wear make up after 1 week.

How long before I can return to work?
You can return to work after one week.

How long will I have my sutures?
Sutures on the face come out after 5 days.

Can I do heavy lifting or aerobic excercise?
Do not do heavy lifting or straining for at least 3 weeks. Wait 3 weeks after surgery for exercise.

What helps the swelling?
Ice packs or ice sponges for at least 1 - 2 days after surgery. Sleep with two or three pillows to help reduce swelling.

Do I need to wear sunscreen?
Use a sunscreen with a SPF of at least 15 when outside. Continue for at least 6 months.

Can I drive?
You may resume driving when you feel you are able, but wait at least 6 days after surgery.
