How old should a candidate be for rhinoplasty surgery?
Growth must be completed - usually 16 - 18 years old is the minimum.
How long do I wear a splint? What about bruising?
A splint is worn for 5 - 7 days after surgery and bruising is usually gone in 7 - 10 days. Most swelling will be gone in 8 - 12 weeks but it CAN take up to a year to see the final results.
Is the surgery painful?
Pain after the surgery is minimal or absent.
If I bring in a picture of a nose I like, can the docor make mine look just like the picture?
He may be able to achieve the look you want but there are limitations depending on the size and anatomy of your nose as well as your skin thickness. Your "new" nose should be in proportion to your face. The ideal result is one which gives a natural look.
