Patient Options with Breast Enlargement

Breast augmentation ("augmentation mammaplasty"), a procedure which enhances the size and shape of the breasts using implants, can be performed several different ways, depending upon your preferences. At Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Center of Texas, we offer four incision techniques for you to choose from:

Crease incision ("inframammary fold"):
Currently one of the most common incision sites used by our Plano / Frisco plastic surgeon, the breast crease is an excellent location, as any scars are hidden on the underside of the breast.

Nipple/areola incision ("periareolar"):
The incisions are made on the areola, which ensures that the pigmented skin of that area will mask any scars. This method is often selected by women who are also undergoing a breast lift. Within close distance to Frisco, our specialist can discuss this option with you if desired.

Underarm incision ("transaxillary"):
Hidden in the natural skin folds in the underarm, these incisions are not made on the breasts, thereby ensuring that no scarring on the breasts will occur. The implant can then be easily inserted into the prepared breast pocket by our surgeon.

TUBA ("transumbilical breast augmentation"):
This newest method specific to saline implants is performed endoscopically through the navel, which also allows for no breast scarring. After the incision is made in the umbilical area, the implant is seamlessly inserted through a tunnel that our surgeon has skillfully prepared.
