Notice from Dr. Wilcox
August 31, 2021
To My Dear Patients,
I am writing this letter to notify all of you that I am bringing my clinical plastic surgery practice to a close. I have been blessed with 3 decades of a wonderful practice and I am grateful I will be able to spend more time with my wife and children, travel, and hobbies. I will continue to see my patients through the end of October, 2021. Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery Center of Texas will continue its tradition of excellence in plastic surgery under the leadership and care of my associate of the last 4+ years: Dr. J. Michael Morrissey. This is my 30th year in practice in Plano, Texas and I would not trust my plastic surgery legacy to anyone who did not have my 100% confidence. Professionally we joined our practices June, 2017 and have had a very good working relationship. I have known Dr. Morrissey socially for 15 years and he is a family man of integrity, honesty, faith, and he has a strong moral compass. I am confident that you, your family, and your friends can put the same confidence in him as you have placed in me over the past 30 years.
Dr. Morrissey will become the sole custodian of medical records of Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery Center and will be available for clinical questions effective November 1, 2021. Our phone number, web site, and social media sites remain unchanged. Should you need a copy of your medical records you can reach us at 972-620-1700 as always.
I recall a lecture during my first month at UT Southwestern Medical School August, 1980 when an older man in a white lab coat explained what a privilege it is to treat patients as a physician. I didn’t understand him so much then as a 21 year old freshman medical student. However, 41 years later I certainly get it. So many patients have become friends and so many patients I will never forget. I will miss the daily interactions but end my clinical practice with the satisfaction of having always given my best to every patient I have had the true privilege of serving.

Top Dallas Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Robert Wilcox, completes 1,000th Gynecomastia Male Breast Reduction Surgery
DALLAS, TX June 17, 2019 /Press Release/ — Dr. Robert Wilcox (www.DrWilcox.com), a board-certified DFW plastic surgeon, has recently completed his 1000th Male Gynecomastia Breast Reduction surgery, making him one of the Top 3 Plastic Surgeons in the country to specialize in this life changing procedure for men.
Gynecomastia is a condition that develops in men that involves a buildup of fatty tissue and often painful glandular tissue in the chest. Some common causes of gynecomastia can be fluctuations in hormones and men who have had significant changes in their weight. It is not uncommon for this condition to develop between the ages of 11 and 15 years old. This is typically the stage of puberty that causes hormonal activity. Gynecomastia can be difficult to address even with diet and exercise. To eliminate excess breast tissue, patients often turn to male breast reduction also known as gynecomastia treatment. With gynecomastia treatment, patients can achieve a slimmer, more masculine appearance and begin to feel more confident.
Dr. Wilcox has pioneered a new technique for Gynecomastia surgery over 10 years ago which sets his Practice apart from other Plastic Surgeons in his field. “I was trained like all other Surgeons in the standard Gynecomastia technique in which incisions are made on the front of the male patient’s chest around the areola, this can lead to complications and scarring. I was sure there was a better way to perform this surgery” says Wilcox. By making small incisions on the side of the Patient’s chest instead, also with this technique both the fatty tissue and the glandular tissue are addressed and can be removed. Dr. Wilcox can perform his Gynecomastia surgeries with far less complications and greater results than previously available outcomes. With patients visiting his Plastic Surgery practice from all over the World, Dr. Wilcox is highly sought after for Gynecomastia surgeries, as he performed 184 of these procedures last year where most surgeons perform between 4-8 of these procedures.
Dr. Robert Wilcox is a leading Plastic Surgeon in Texas. Dr. Wilcox entered private practice in Plano and North Dallas in 1992. In 1998, he made the decision to design and build a world-class surgical facility/clinic/skin care center to complement his increasingly global practice. He has patients from six continents and has published and presented numerous scientific articles in the United States and abroad. He is a respected member of the Plastic Surgery community and served as the past President of the Dallas Society of Plastic Surgeons. At the Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery Center of Texas, we offer male plastic surgery procedures to help men achieve their cosmetic goals while preserving their natural masculine qualities. RealSelf Hall of Fame Unveiled: Dr. Wilcox and Dr. Morrisey in the Top 1,000 Highest-Rated and Most Engaged Aesthetic Doctors
For eight years, the annual RealSelf 100 and 500 awards recognized doctors with outstanding records of high patient ratings who have given back to the RealSelf community by providing credible, valuable insights in response to consumer questions about elective cosmetic treatments ranging from surgical procedures to minimally invasive technologies to cosmetic dentistry. For the first time ever, RealSelf celebrates the Hall of Fame, a culmination of eight years of recognitions made through the RealSelf 100 and 500 awards program.
“Making the RealSelf Hall of Fame requires a commitment to helping patients make informed and confident choices,” said Dr. Lara Devgan, RealSelf Chief Medical Officer and board-certified plastic surgeon. “From answering consumer questions and sharing before and after photos to encouraging patients to leave open and honest reviews, the valuable insights this group provides help make it possible for RealSelf to bring transparency to the medical aesthetics industry.”
To be included in the RealSelf Hall of Fame, doctors must have received a RealSelf 100 or RealSelf 500 award in the past. The awards program, which first launched in 2010, honors the top-rated and most engaged board-certified aesthetic doctors on RealSelf. Doctors are ranked in three categories: earning patient reviews, answering consumer questions, and sharing before and after treatment photos. In order to be recognized in any given year, doctors must maintain the distinction of Top Doctor or Top Contributor and uphold an average rating above four stars.
“The RealSelf Hall of Fame honors the achievements of board-certified aesthetic doctors who consistently put the consumer first,” said Tom Seery, Founder and CEO of RealSelf. “It’s my pleasure to recognize this elite group of doctors for their significant contributions on RealSelf and their high standards in patient satisfaction.”
“As RealSelf grows and continues to evolve how we help consumers make smart and confident decisions, we are also evaluating how we recognize our medical community,” added Seery. “We look forward to announcing new plans for RealSelf awards and recognitions in 2019.”
The Hall of Fame inductees rank among the top five percent of the RealSelf medical community for engagement. Together, this group has provided more than 1.8 million answers to consumer questions, uploaded nearly 200,000 before and after photos, and garnered more than 50,000 patient reviews on RealSelf.
